Choosing the right web design package for your needs and budget
At Softwired, we use three approaches to web design with HubSpot themes. The first is to build a custom theme from the Hubspot boilerplate. This is the generic framework that they have developed for developers to get the process started. We use this for custom designs using Sketch mockups.
The second approach is to brand a theme with colors, logo, etc. We use this for template-based sites and rely on templates provided by the theme designer. This doesn't work well with custom designs because we are trying to use someone else’s code, which can create bloat and other issues. The benefit is that if there is simple styling of modules, you can have more variety of page elements. We use this method if designers base mockups on existing templates.
The third option is a hybrid approach. We use a branded theme but we also design custom page layouts that are either hand crafted mockups or use various page layouts.
These three options are in line with our “Three Bears” approach. We use this method to determine which plan is the best fit for your business. We then make adjustments, up or down, to customize your project.
The Three Bears approach:
The Baby Bear option uses a Template Based Prototype and is ideal for small businesses. We take the template and brand it with the business colors and logo. It includes one review and launch.
The Mama Bear option is a hybrid of the Template/Custom Design approach. It is a great fit for medium-sized businesses. The package includes a custom home page, tailored subpages, two reviews and launch.
The Papa Bear option is best suited for large businesses or organizations that have a need for a large website with a very specific vision for design and functionality. This package includes custom design, a custom home page and sub-pages, robust features, platform integrations, three reviews, and launch.
